You are offerding on an original Persons seat/saddle which I just removed from my 1916 Harley Davidson Model J. It was incorrect for my motorcycle and I had the correct one built for mine and I am now offering this original piece up for sale. My seat builder believes that this is from the lateteens to late 1920\'s and couldbe correct for anearly British bike.

This piece is in very nice original/unrestored condition, with excellent original patina on the leather. If you have a super original unrestored bike and you are looking for a period correct saddle with +/- 100 year old leather on it, this is a nice example for the right unrestored/original bike. The padding is still soft under the leather, and the leather itself is actually in pretty decent condition given the age. The leather has very nice patina, and stiff(er) it\'ssill mostly pliable, and showing some cracking you would be accustomed to seeing on leather of this age. If you look closely, the original stampingis impregnatedin the back of the saddle, along with the original \"PERSONS\" ID tag riveted through the back.

There is some wear on the side of the leather/trim as shown in the photos, along with a very light amount of wear on the top of the leather where the handle bars rubbed the front/snout of the seat under full turning radius. You can see the original tacks on the underside, holding the leather to the tack strips on the underside of the pan. The steel pan appears to be in its original paint. The mounting bracket has been painted but the springs appear to be in their original chrome finish. There is one weld/repair on one side of the bracket as shown in the photos which looks solid but could be cleaned up/ground down if desired.
