Antique Phonograph Edison Gem Cylinder Phonograph:
Here’s an Edison Gem up for sale from my collection. I have had this phonograph for over 20 years. It is 100% original, including the dust, the dirt and the oil. It has not been modified, restored or altered in any way, and there are no reproduction parts. The only items I am not completely certain about are the chain suspending the horn and the rubber hose that connects the horn to the reproducer. They were on the machine when I found it, but no way to be certain if they are vintage. I’m not into making old things look new, so I have done nothing exceptclean it once a year or so with lemon oil, wind it up, play it once or twice, and let it wind down. You can polish it up and make it look nice and shiny if you get it!The pin striping on the phonograph is about 95% intact, and the pin striping on the horn 95%+. There is a small amount of paint loss on the carriage(see pix) and the reproducer is stuck in the carriage and I'm not going to try to loosen it. The reproducer is a Model C. The horn is in excellent condition, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say 9.7. There is one very small dent which I have attempted to show in the pix. The cover is in excellent condition with the original Edison decal. The Edison decal on the horn is original and about 95% intact. All in all, a fine old phonograph in original condition…don’t pass it up!
As always with my sales, you have a 100% money back guarantee if you believe I have misrepresented this item in any way, but please, ask questions first, asI do not pay return postage. Please, very importantly, disregard the postage calculation courtesy of : I charge only exact postage, andI will calculate shipping charges only after the sale has ended, item is packed, and winning buyer has provided an address and shipping preference. I do not charge for packing. I don’t pack the item until after the sale in case someone wants another photo, and there is absolutely no way to know the shipping cost until the item is packed. DO NOT make payment based on the postage calculation. Some buyers have done this with my sale items, and it creates confusion, as the shipping amounts are ALWAYS wrong. I can ship by UPS or USPS. I will not ship internationally! Too many hassles!!!
