Antique Porcelain Ewer / Jug Pirkenhammer Fischer & Mieg Hand Painted C1900:
Antique Porcelain Ewer / Jug PIRKENHAMMER Fischer & Mieg Hand Painted c1900
This is a beautiful porcelain ewer / jug with hand painted scenes and lavish gilding. Made by Pirkenhammer (Fischer & Mieg) in Czechoslovakia, circa 1900.
One of the scenes depicts a group of men drinking outside a Tavern and the other depicts a man and woman flying hawks; hunting I imagine as there are a pair of Spaniels standing by also. The handle is formed as a flying mythical beast, possibly a Griffin? The gilding is of a high standard.
Condition is very good indeed, with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. There is a little gilt wear only, mainly on the handle.
Approximate height - 9 3/4 inches (24.7cm) Maximum width - 5 1/2 inches (14cm).
Photographs form a very important part of my description and therefore buyers are advised to study them carefully and to contact me for any additional information they may need.
