Refinished early 1900s solid mahogany jewelry/storage box. Solid brass hinges in good working order. Escutcheon on front is also brass. Box has a lock, but no key — don\'t know if it works. Corners were joined using a miter butt joint. Box measures 8 1/2\" long x 5\" deep x 3 1/4\" tall. Inside dimensions are 7 7/8\" long x 4 3/8\" deep x 2 5/8\" tall. Sides are 1/4\" thick. Lid has beveled edges. Box was refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax to a soft luster. This hand-made box is in excellent condition. All joints are solid. Some marks from age and use. Purple felt lining (removable) on inside and felt feet were added to protect bottom and your furniture.
