Antique Primitive Stoneware Yellow Ware Spongeware Vase Craftsman Era Or Earlier For Sale
Fantastic I'm thinking rather early rare form stoneware vase in excellent condition. My clients for starters were from Johnson City, New York - this piece was found in one of many trunks that had among other things Civil War era memoriabilia - This is one of two vases found. This vase stands approximately 6 1/4" tall. The opening at top is approx 3 1/2". The clay is creamy white w/ a dark yellow/golden glaze and dark blue spongeware, almost to me in the style of Rockingham ware. The handles are of a beautiful form.This is not my area of expertise, I've clearly researched Rockingham, Bennington, etc. and have been unable to ascertain a maker - any tips would be great! NR.
