For sale is a Rare George II solid silver Lidded Quart Tankard. Fantastic item, high end collectors piece.
Hallmarked for London 1737, makers mark for Thomas tearle. Dual sets of matching Hallmarks (on the body and under the lid)
The Tankard displays beautiful later embossed decoration and has the addition of pouring Spout making the Tankard more practical.
The Tankard is very large at 7 1/2" in height and 8" at its widest (Spout to handle). The tankards maximum capacity when filled to the brim is 2 pints or a Quart. It weighs an impressive 920g and is a very solid piece of silver.
Excellent condition overall. No notable damage or dents despite its age. Some very minor surface marks and slight signs of its considerable age, but excellent overall.
