...... After some searching on the internet, I was surprised to find that Private Elihu Goodman fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill, June 17, 1775. That would make him one of the 1,200 colonial troops under the command of William Prescott who occupied Bunker Hill and Breed's Hill. Elihu Goodman, (1753-1840), is from Hadley, Massachusetts. Tonight, we are selling Elihu Goodman’s “Revolutionary Claim.” It certifies with the law of the United States that Elihu Goodman, of the state of Massachusetts, was a private in the Army of the Revolution. He was entitled to receive thirty dollars, per annum during his natural life. This war department document is hand signed by the secretary of war, Lew Cass. There also is a wax seal from the United States of America War Department. This Revolutionary War Document measures 10 by 15 ½ inches and has separated on several of the seams. There also is some toning to the early paper.

US Buyers: Shipping costs for most items can be determined by the shipping calculator in the sale (Please view details below about calculator) and are shipped via UPS ground.  If you prefer USPS this is also an option.  If you prefer USPS, please contact us and we will make arrangements.   Any item that sells for over $250 must be sent with signature required.

International buyers:  Please be aware that you may incur a brokerage and/or customs fee upon delivery. Winning buyer is responsible for shipping & customs charges. We reserve the right to choose the carrier based on shipping method selected at time of payment. Any item that sells for over $250 will be sent Express Mail with FULL insurance.
