Gorgeous antique RogersSmith & Cosilverplate pickle castor set. This stands 10-1/2" high and includes all three pieces -- stand, crystal jar with lid and tongs. Markng on the bottom reads "Rogers Smith & Co Meriden CT Quadruple".

Beautiful leaf detailing across the top and a bird head used to hang the tongs on. The tongs resemble bird claws and are rubbed so that a gold color shows under the silverplate.

Heavy crystal jar has a wider, ribbed base and handsome vertical stripes made up of small squares. These run from the base up to the lower lip of the jar. There is a chip in one spot at the top of one of these lines -- small and not obvious, but I did try to photograph it for you.

The canister top has a berry handle and is engraved with the letter "E" or "F" (see photo)?

My only question on this piece is a metal piece that is attached to the rod opposite the tong side. I'm not sure if there is something missing from this or if this small design was intentional.
