Antique Royal Mint Silver Coronation Medal King Edward VII w Case 1902
Antique official British historicalsilver medallionstruck by the Royal Mint forthe coronation of KingEdward VII in 1902approximately5.6 cm (2&3/16 inch) diameter in original presentation case. Face side ishead ofKing Edward VII and "EDWARD VII CROWNED 9 AUGUST 1902" around the outsideboarder. Reverse: Queen Alexandra head with "ALEXANDRA QUEEN CONSORT" around the outside boarder, and the date "9 AUG. 1902" just below. The original red case is marked in gold leafon the front with the cypher for King Edward VII with a crown over and "19", and "02" to each side and "CORONATION MEDAL" below. Genuine antique, used and worn; in very good condition; the original case has some rubbing, andis pinched at the front left hand corner, and has come apart at the bottom of the hinge(see last three photos).Weighs approximately 85.72 grams.
