Antique Royal Worcester Blue Willow Plate C.1912, 8 3/4” Bone China :
The Worcester Willow pattern was developed about 1875. Even though it has no willow tree, it was referred to in pattern and shape books as “Willow.” There are no common elements with Standard Willow, but there are chinoiserie (Chinese export) theme pieces of; a pagoda surrounded by fence and water, a bridge is at the upper part of the pattern, in the water upper left there are two boats at sea also there are two figures; one in the pagoda door and the other in the riverboat. The pattern is based on Bird Chinoiserie by Minton. The border is flowers and scrolls pattern. A dot code around the makers circle and crown mark and the words over it indicate it was made for a customer in Montreal in the year 1912.
