Antique Seth Thomas Mantel/shelf Clock Adamantine Clock Pat. 1880 For SaleSeth Thomas Adamantine clock patented Sept. 7, 1880. Has directions on the inside of back and marked in pencil is the date Sept. 20, 1914. Evidently this Adamantine finish is something special "will not chip, and cannot be scratched or dented by any ordinary usage." Clock measures 10" tall X 8 1/4" at the base X 5 1/2" deep. This is a working clock!! It strikes on the hour. I wound it partially and it ran for over a day. Has no key - I used one of my all purpose keys that can be purchased on . The dial is enamel over metal - is slightly yellowed on the right side and there is a light touch of crazing on the lower left side (have to look closely to see it) - is marked Seth Thomas Manufactured in the United States of America. Label on inside of back states Thomaston, Conn. There is a paper attached on the back of the clock from an Arts and Crafts sale in Jan. 1993. Personally, I like this clock!! Shipping is $18.00.
