Antique Silver Filigree Sabbath Havdallah Candle Holder Palestine Israel Judaica For Sale
I have had the silver filigree Havdallah candle holders designed exactly like this before, which usually had a Bezalel hallmark. Those examples quite frankly, were pretty flimsy in material, the silver being on the thin side, it was like holding a piece of tin. This example however is exceptionally well made, the silver is very, very thick and it gives the piece a great sturdiness. The hallmarks have me stumped. It just has an "833" (silver content), and two extremely tiny marks, which I am guessing are tax marks. Made in Israel, but when? 1930's? 40's? Certainly not later than the 50's.
