Antique Sitzendorf Dresden Lace Girl With Basket Of Flowers - Excellent For Sale
This darling little girl figurine is one of six that were treasured by my mother for many years and displayed with pride in a lighted china cabinet. The paint, flower petals & leaves, grass, fingers and lace are all pristine and intact, except one small area of the lace at the hem (see photo). This area is on the back side and in no way detracts from this beautiful piece. About 4" x 4". She is in excellent condition. Info fromThe Antiques Bible: "Sitzendorf Porcelain is from Sitzendorf, Germany. The blue crown over the letter "S" with a double cross slash mark dates from 1902 on. Dresden style porcelain is distinguished by the use of flowers, fruits, leaves and scroll work. The actual porcelain is so white it is almost translucent. Most collectible among the Sitzendorf range of porcelains are the lace figurines first produced in the mid-1880s. The lace look was accomplished by dipping real fabric into porcelain and firing the result." We will be listing more items from my mother's estate over the next few weeks. We're happy to combine items for a discounted shipping rate. Please request a combined invoice at the end of the sale. Please check our other sales!
