Antique Victorian Silver Bon Bon Dish - Hallmarked London 1891Relisted due to non-paying buyer
Here we have for sale this exquisite little solid silver bon bon, or sweet dish, made in London in 1891 by William Comyns & Sons, of Beak Street W1. In lovely condition, with no damage that we can see, it is a little footed dish, with highly detailed, intricate pierced designs all over, except for the very bottom of the bowl. It also bears the stamp of the retailers, Carrington & Co, of Regent Street.
It weighs 110g and measures 13cm diameter (main bowl), 7cm diameter (foot) and is 3.5cm high. We hope that it can find a home with a collector of such lovely, antique silverware. We recently saw a slightly larger dish with the exact same design, made by William Comyns and with a date a few years later than this one, for sale in an antique dealer's in Bakewell for £268.
We have set a genuine low starting price with , in the hope that it will generate a lot of interest and help us to raise much needed funds for Age UK South Lakeland.

Due to Royal Mail's new weight and sizing restrictions, we will send your item by one of a number of methods - please check the listing for details. Small Parcels and Large Letters will continue to be sent via Royal Mail. Medium Parcels (over 8cm in thickness) will be sent by 2-3 day courier to keep costs down, as the new prices mean that postage costs have more than doubled (most parcels previously £2.70 now cost £5.65!)
Pleasedo not mark us down in your ratings for postage cost - we do not make any money on postage and what you have paid is - to within a few pence - what it has actually cost to post your item. It only takes 3 bad ratings in a year for us to lose our Top Seller status.
We reserve the right to ask for extra postage costs for certain UK postcodes, if not using Royal Mail - i.e. courier charges to offshore islands or Northern Ireland cost us extra.
