Up for your consideration I have an antique hanging scale/balance by C Forschners. It is marked \"Balance No 2 New York Pat Jan 23, 1900\" The total length from hook to ring is @ 10.5\" It weighs @ 5oz. It has a spring inside and is still functional.

This scale is pretty old! Preliminary information reveals that eventually the company was Chas Forschner & Sons. There is a lot of minor references about them in the scale business, but not a lot of specific align=\"left\">The items I offer are generally antiques, vintage or pre-owned. They may have normal and/or typical wear consistent with age. This balance/scale is in excellent condition, considering its age. It is marked 1900, so that is what I am going by. Damn baby....that makes it 115 years old!!!

It\'s not nearly as old as Count Duckula however as he has been cursed with immortality! align=\"left\">Please look at the pictures. The pictures tell the story and illustrate the character of the wonderful and unusual items that I offer. Also, please ask any questions that you may have. There is a ding on the back of the housing, but nothing tragic. This scale wears it like a badge of honor, saluting its age!
