An antique Staffordshire England -hand painted china porcelain Glassed and Bisque mix on lid with hand painting 2 Dove Pigeons trinket box c1722-1800s.Marked on bottom 1722 and on bottom lid with #2 and 1722 .This attractive and amassing piece, very collectible and very rare style!

The box is in great shape for a almost 300 year old box. These are still quite stable. The box closes tightly.

The Staffordshire England enameled box is approximately 6.25\" inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and 4.5 inch tall.
The arrival of a middle class in this period brought about a demand for decorative items that previously had barely existed, to be added to furniture and Edwardian mantles. These Staffordshire decor pieces were definitely cruder in composition and decoration than the more formal and more expensive china wares, but had a distinct charm as well as often being a commentary of the period. Attractive examples such as this did not always survive the 20th century, so are quite collectible now. This item is in excellent condition with 1 chip on tail dove bird , no cracks, some gold painting losses, no repairs, other than a few craze defects in the glaze , and some dirty or paint on the lid.
