Antique Sterling Snake Serpent Bracelet Bangle British 4 Hallmarks Victorian Wow For Sale
This antique snake bracelet has captivating style. It is a unique, well constructed piece of sterling silver. The hallmarks are so difficult to see, even underneath a loop, but hopefully you can also see in the photo: D6 , Lion Passant , Leopard Head (no crown), and uppercase cursive "R". The four hallmarks are in this order. If I am correct in identifying, it dates to the 1890's, and to London. The lion determines its silver content, .925.For a while I thought it was Swedish, with D6 being in the front as the date code, which also would date it to 1880's-90's.Either way, I will let the buyer determine its value. The inside right now measures 2 1/2" in diameter, but this could be adjusted. The total snake length is approximately 9".You will see in the photos the excellent carved detail to the snake skin. This texture is on the areas shown in photo. The rest of the bracelet is smooth sterling. Condition is minty. Weight is 17.7 grams. Thanks for looking, I welcome any questions.
