Delightful Antique European Sterling Silver Dolls House Miniature Hanging Lantern & Stand circa 1920
This Antique Lantern 1 1/8 inches or 30 mm across the depth of the stands base from back to front by 1 3/8 inches or 35 mm across the width of the stands base from side to side and the stand is just over 3 5/8 inches or 93 mm tall from top to base, the lantern is 2 3/8 inches or 61 mm in total length from the top of its hanging ring to the base of its body when hanging and it is just under 1 inch or 24 mm across the widest part of its body from side to side.
The miniature lantern and stand are both made from sterling silver, the stand has a raised relief decorated scallop shell shape base with a relief twist decorated column that has an arch over the top and the end of the top arch has a hook that the lantern hangs from, the lantern has a pierce decorated top with a ring that hangs from the stand and it has four sterling silver chains that the other two parts of its raised relief, pierced and engrave decorated body hangs from, the stand and lantern have Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram and the upper arch of the stand along with the hanging ring of the lantern have both been impressed with European 925 standard sterling silver marks all as photographed below, I estimate that this dolls house miniature lantern and stand were possibly made in Italy circa 1910 - 1930.

The lantern and stand have No Dents, No Splits, No Cracks, No Holesand No Repairs that I can find, they stands upright and the lantern hangs perfectly, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the central body of the lantern opens and closes perfectly with ease, the sterling silver and makers marks are still legible although as this is a used antique dolls house miniature lantern and stand it does have someextremely minor surface marks and wear from use along with the patina of age that is to be expectedanda gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this antique miniature lantern and stand wouldmake a superb addition toany dolls house or cabinet collection and thatit looks absolutely fantasticconsidering that it's around 90 or so yearsold.
