Thispretty solid sterling thimble has a rolled rim, a plain band and allover daisy knurling. It\'s in the shape of the tip of a finger includingthe nail. The shape is very comfortable and fits the finger perfectly.It\'s in the form of the \"Trueform\" thimble which was patented in 1904 byHorace Bourne.

It\'s inoutstanding condition, crisp and inround with no holes, dents orrepairs and is about an American size 11 (17 mm diameter opening). Ithas the English sterlinghallmarks for Birmingham 1909 and the maker\'s mark C.M. Co. Ltd. Oneis shown on p. 193 of Edwin Holmes book A History of Thimblesand he showsa fascinating ad of the times that shows how this thimble fits thefinger vs the old fashioned thimble shape.
