Antique Stoneware: 1gal. Crock W/ Cobalt "tornado Bouquet", Upstate Ny, Ca.1875 For Sale
An exceptional 1Gal. Salt-Glazed Crock with a perfectly executed "Tornado Bouquet" in both Slip-Trailed and Brushed Cobalt. Unmarked, but most likely made at one of the Upstate New York potteries between 1870-1880. The 1Gal. capacity is very desirable, and the cobalt design is bold and flawless! The condition is near Mint, with excellent overall proportion, firmly-applied lug handles, well-tooled rim, and single incised line near the top of the design. The interior Albany Slip looks factory fresh. There are four equally-spaced stack marks on the base. No post-production flaws or imperfections! See photos for details and further description.
