Antique Stoneware: 1gal. Pfaltzgraff & Co. (pa) Jug W/ Cobalt Tulip, Ca.1870, Nr For Sale
Any aficionado of Antique Stoneware should have at least one Pfaltzgraff in their collection. This is one of my best, and happens to be the most highly-coveted 1Gal. Jug. This piece features the Pfaltzgraff signature Brushed Tulip design- it is bold, perfectly executed and quite flawless. The impressed stamp on the shoulder reads: PFALTZGRAFF & CO., YORK, PA. and dates this piece to around 1870. There are additional Cobalt accents on the upper and lower handle terminals. There are some blemishes "in the making", a few age-appropriate dings on the base and spout; otherwise in mint overall condition. The included cork is most-likely original and sits perfectly on the spout. Please see photos for details and further description. This Jug will not disappoint! Measures 7"W x 11-1/2"H overall.
