Antique Stoneware: 3gal. Ny Crock W/ Bird, G.s. Guy & Co., Fort Edward, Ca.1885 For Sale
I don't think this 3Gal. from Upstate New York needs a long, fancy description. This is a HTF name on a superb piece with a highly sought-after decoration. See photos for complete details and further description. Measures 11-1/2"W x 10-1/4"H overall. The base and inner rim diameters are 11" and 9-1/4", respectively. 11.8 lbs.A bit of history on the stamp follows. Marked with a cobalt-washed impression that reads: G.S. GUY & CO., FORT EDWARD, N.Y. This was a partnership between George Guy and William Tilford, who took over the Haxstun & Co. pottery. The operation lasted for 10 years (1882-1892); probably one of the last surviving stoneware manufactories in the Fort Edward area.Ships promptly with full insurance to one lucky buyer. , Good Luck!!!
