Antique Stoneware: 4gal. Ovoid Cream Pot W/ Brushed Cobalt Floral, Ca.1870, Ex For Sale
An incredible 4Gal. Ovoid Cream Pot, probably made in Pennsylvania or Upstate New York, ca.1870. This is a very large piece, weighing nearly 17 lbs! It features a spectacular Double Floral decoration in bold Brushed Cobalt, covering the entire front! There is a single incised line just below an impressed "4". This crock is extremely well-crafted with near perfect proportions! There is a small stone pop on one blossom and a rim chip on the back; otherwise in Mint Condition. There is a consistent Salt Glaze on the exterior surface; Albany Slip interior. This 4Gal. Ovoid will not disappoint, and will display very prominently in any Antique Stoneware collection. A personal favorite. Measures 11-1/4"W x 13"H overall.
