This is THE GROWLING, ROLLING GOOGLE EYE very rare peter bear.
The bear was originally made by GEBR Sussenguth in Germany from around 1924-1925. FIRST PRODUCTION STOPPED BECAUSE HE SCARED THE CHILDREN.........SO SAD!The bear premiered at the Leipzig Fair in 1925. Although production of the bear ended nearly 80 + years ago,a small stock of antique assembly parts for this rare bear remained.
This Peter bear stock was uncovered and assembled in 1996 and ONLY 250 total Peter Bears were assembled from original antique 1924 stock!....only 250!!!Though the mohair would be newer, every other single part of Peter Bear, including his unusual paper mache armature and GIANT GOOGLY rare glass eyes, are the authentic antique originals!!!
This is lucky number 249 of the 250 bears produced from the antique stock found.
HE IS WONDERFUL TO HOLD....HE IS THE CENTER OF ANY COLLECTION AND HE DOES NOT SCARE THE DOLLS!! THEY LOVE HIM!!He is in minty mnt condition. The bears eyes move side to side when you move his tongue. Peter has a big growl, beautiful tipped mohair and his original ribbon, box, paper certificate, and copy of original factory book!sold as is, no returns and no refunds........this jointed bear is the best of the best!!!
