Offering for sale this THREE BIG JACKS penny drop
gambling machine trade stimulator circa the 1930s. I believe it was made by the
Fields company.
Jacks machines (named for their large visible jackpots)
came in a number of varieties and were produced by several makers in the early
30s and 40s. They all share a very
simple design principle of having the player flick the coin into a nail-covered
playfield – hoping to have the coin land in a slot that would release a
jackpot.
This is a nice specimen overall – having a simple wood
cabinet that appears to have been refinished 20-30 years ago. The casting is
free of cracks or chips and has a very nice patina. There is an older lock and key for the back
door. The internal mechanism appears old
and all original and is in fine working condition.
