Antique Tiffany Delft Royal Bonn? Porcelain French Japy Freres Mantel Clock For Sale
Up for sale is a wonderful antique porcelain clock.Circa 1890-1910. The clock's dimensions are approximately; H- 14", W- 9" & D- 5.5"
The Case: The Blue Delft case is in excellent physical condition. I can not see and/or feel and chips, breaks, etc.. On the bottom of the case, (see photos), there are several markings on it. I can not make out the wording. One of the markings looks like a "Royal Bonn" marking one would see on a lot of porcelain clocks. I can not tell for sure. As far as the other markings, it's the same scenario, the letters are too fuzzy for me to make out exactly what it says. There is crazing throughout the case.
The Dial/Face: The porcelain dial/face is in excellent physical condition. I can not see and/or feel chips, breaks, etc.. The brass hands are absolutely stunning.
The Bezel: The brass bezel is clean and closes tightly to the case. The convex beveled crystal/glass is clean and scratch free from what I can see.
The Mechanism: The Japy Freres 8 day movement strikes on the 1/2 hour and hour. I've had the clock running for the last few days. On the back plate of the movement it states:
"Japy Freres Cie Co., Med D'Honneur:", "Made in France", "A.1" surrounded by an oval & "Tiffany & Co, New York".
The Pendulum numbers do not match the mechanism.
The clock is being put for sale in "as found" condition. All sales are final.
