Antique Vintage Japanese Kimono. Crepe De Chine Blue And Red. Birds Embroidered For Sale
A fabulous antique or vintage kimono in royal blue crepe de Chine lined with smooth crimson silk.The printing and embroidered detail on the front panels depicts elaborate mythical birds and chrysanthemums.There are also several circular floral motifs which must have some kind of ceremonial or dynastic significance... if you know more about them, please let me know.The garment is entirely hand stiched, exquisitely detailed and obviously old and original. It has never been damaged or repaired in any way and looks as if it has never been worn.I bought this kimono forty five years ago and it was old then! I have listed it as pre 1920's because it could be, there are no labels or any maker's marks and stylistically, it is not modern.I believe this stylish kimono is something special, certainly not to be confused with the mass produced Chinese "kimonos" which are available nowadays.
