AntiqueVictoria Carlsbad Austria Porcelain Plate with Victorian Scene signed Kaufmann on the Center.
This beautiful green and gold-rimmed Victoria Carlsbad porcelain plate was manufactured by the Schmidt and Company\'s Victoria Porcelain Factory in Altrohlau, Bohemia (now Stara Role, Czech Republic). This factory was in business from 1883 to 1945, but the mark on the back of this plate is said to have been used only between 1891 and 1918. Carlsbad (or Karlsbad) was a town in the center of Bohemia\'s porcelain industry. Bohemia was part of the Austrian Empire prior to World War I.The plate contains a central design of the Three Graces (in Greek mythology, goddesses of such things as charm, beauty and creativity) or Muses. The green boarder contains a repeated gold Art Nouveau motif and bouquets of roses.Size:7 inches in diameter.
Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks.
