Antique Victorian 14k Gold 23g Bookchain Link Buckle Bracelet For Sale
Antique Victorian 14k Gold 23g Bookchain Link Buckle Bracelet
This sale is for a finely made and golden, 14k gold bookchain link bracelet, that is from the Victorian era. This piece is not marked but tests positive for 14k solid gold and is a bright yellow gold. The bracelet measures 6 1/2" long, is just shy of 1 3/8" wide at its widest point, and is 3/8" thick at its thickest point at the front. This piece weighs 23 grams and closes securely with its original hidden push clasp and has an older safety chain that is not original to the piece. This piece is unique for the style of the links, which move and pivot independently, and are substantial in size so the piece is quite striking when worn. The front of the bracelet looks a bit like a buckle design ... but not quite. I don't think that the pendant of the bracelet is in original condition, the "ribbon" or "buckle" probably matched seamlessly at the far end - instead there's a bit of a break and a gap to the edge. It is all very solid and secure - I just think that most likely it was repaired at some point. The links and the components of the bracelet are slightly puffy in shape and that is quite intact still - there are no dents or misshapen links other than the central pendant as I described. There is one small tear to the gold at the bottom of one of the links. It is very narrow and at the very edge of the links so it is noticeable only upon close inspection and the link is still very secure. The links have a pretty floral pattern at the center and a scroll design along the sides of the piece so it has a subtle texture and visual interest. The gold has a bright patina and the bracelet has a very unique feel when worn. Overall this is a finely made and golden, 14k gold bookchain link bracelet, that is from the Victorian era and is in good condition.
