Description: Antique, Late Victorian, Masonic, presentation walking stick or cane with a magnificent repousse decorated 14 K gold handle, as tested by a jeweler. The wooden shaft is most likely a dense tropical wood such as ebony as it is dark and has a fine tight grain. The gold handle is engraved: “ L. W. Marble, Owensboro Commandery No. 15 K. T.” The Owensville Commandery #15 refers to the Lodge of the Knights Templar of Owensville Kentucky, which was organized April 15, 1872. On record from April 1882,one of theOfficiers present was L. W. Marble and his title was Prelate. Additionally, in 1906 The Royal Arch-Masons, Grand Chapter of Kentucky, L. W. Marble was listed among others as Past Masters. The handle has been tested by X-ray and is14K.Dimensions: Gold Knob: 2 5/8” long; 1 ½” diameter; Total Length: 35 ¼” long.
