Superb antique Victorian 14k two tone ring, with a center Pear Shaped Pyrope Garnet Cabochon, Bezel Set. It is surrounded by 23 Rose Cut Diamonds at app. .08 ctw with a color and clarity grading of I-SI1,2,I1, bead set in a white gold Scroll Crown Top , with open Split Shank Sides. Not marked, tested to be 14k and a finger size of 6.5. The top of the ring measures 15.88mm tall, and the garnet sits up off the finger app. 6mm. The mounting is just fabulous, with a solid gold underside. The garnet itself measures app. 9 x 5mm in size, faces up with a deep red color. Under magnification the garnet has some slight surface wear, faces up beautifully, diamonds look fine: rose cuts are very primitive, but these face up nicely in the white gold and the top really sparkles, with a little wear to the gold mounting - the bezel is a little bigger than the garnet and is a tad uneven. The ring weighs 2.4 dwt or 3.73 grams. Please take note that photos were taken in regular indoor lighting and under an Ott Light used for diamond grading that mimics bright daylight to show how the garnet looks at different angles.
