A heavenly, rare antique Victorian handmade lace skirt, circa 1880-191, recently acquired at sale. The endless pin tucks, rondelle lace inserts, along with the frilly Valenciennes lace edged ruffles, were all lovongly created by extremely skilled hands on this glorious skirt. Fashioned from the finest cotton batiste, it is slightly sheer, lending an ethereal feel. It features a full, trained skirt cascading below scalloped panels of pin tucks to make this over the top sensational. Another wonderful feature is that the creator of this skirt "signed" it in the front center waistband with an embroidered symbol that resembles an asterik. So sweet!
The waist measures 24", the length at mid front to hem is 39" and it then gracefully tapers to back length of 59". The waist fastens with the original hook & eye closures, and is adjustable. It is in pristine, wearable condition, and is a soft ivory in hue. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own an exquisite piece like this! It would be a wonderful choice for a vintage wedding ensemble, perhaps paired with a beautiful, matte satin bustier.
