A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot; an addition to our silver teaware collection.
This magnificent antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot has a baluster shaped form.
The body of the coffee pot is embellished with convex oval panels embellished with magnificent bright cut engraved floral and foliate sprays, including roses and lilies.
The panels are segmented with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decorated borders, incorporating a cartouche to either side; one remains vacant and the other bears the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a dexter hand issuing out of a cloud pointing to a staff.
The raised flared shoulders of the coffee pot are encompassed with a cast and applied scrolling leaf textured border.
This antique silver coffee pot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover, surmounted with the original and impressive hallmarked cast sterling silver lobed, tapering finial, accented with a scroll and bead decorated collar design to the lower portion.
The cover is further ornamented with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf designs.
This Victorian silver coffee pot is fitted with an impressive cast sterling silver S scroll handle with an exceptional leaf textured thumbpiece and further leaf designs to the exceptional terminals.
The swan necked spout is encompassed with impressive foliate textures to the socket and bright cut engraved foliate designs to the upper portion.
This antique silver coffee pot is supported by four impressive conjoined bracket style feet ornamented with cast foliate decoration, in addition to scrolling designs to the rim.
This antique Victorian coffee pot has been made in the same style and bears the identical heraldic markings as the teapot C2109; they would sit very well together as a composite set.
This antique Victorian silver coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The interior of the coffee pot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.
The cast ornamentation is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the coffee pot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover and surface of the finial and handle are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example antique teaware.
