Product Description
This magnificent antique Victorian Monteith style silver bowl, crafted in sterling standard, has a circular form onto a circular domed foot.
The large body of this presentation bowl is embellished with embossed convex fluted ornamentation alternating with a modular bead style fluting, all in a swirl design.
The ornamentation to this impressive piece incorporates a large shaped bordered cartouche to one side.
The Monteith style rim of this antique bowl is ornamented with an applied scrolling border accented with ten chased decorated figural masks above pendant drop designs.
This Victorian bowl is an exceptional weight for size, offering a large spread/capacity; by virtue of its size, this versatile bowl could be used as a bottle cooler or a magnificent presentation piece.
Such large bowls of this quality and condition are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This antique bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The applied and embossed decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bowl are clear in keeping with age and location.
