The History

This beautiful necklace comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art DecoEra is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or\"RoaringTwenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designsin jewelry came out of this period.

During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon customorder, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.

Akoya Pearls during the Art Deco Period were extremely rare and expensive to own! These pearls were extremely elegant and highly sought after due to their stunning luster and beautiful round shape. The pearls were still very new during the Art Deco Period and usually reserved for only the richest of the rich with their incredibly expensive price.

The European Cut was primarily in use from 1890 to 1940.This type of old cut diamond was a step up from the Mine cut which preceded it,it includes more facets to reflect the light and sparkle as well as a largertable than we had ever seen before. This was truly the last type of diamond tobe cut completely by hand! These diamonds especially larger ones are very rare,due to being re-cut into modern cuts over the years.

The Piece

There is a total of 64 hand polished graduated natural Akoya Pearls within this necklace. Each pearl starting from the clasp is slightly bigger going down to the bottom of the necklace. The pearls have a gorgeous Cream hue on the Pearl color scale and are very very lustrous. Pearls of this age are very rare and timeless in design!

The Akoya Pearls are beautifully strung on a lovely white silk string with double knotting throughout to prevent the pearls from rubbing on each other.

Thenecklacealso includes a highly ornate clasp with a inset 4 mm pearl and a Old European Cut Diamond on either side that measures 1-2 mm in diameter.

The necklace includes a highly ornate and secure 14k White Gold fishhook clasp. The necklace measures 18\" in length and sits right below the neckline to beautifully highlight the necklace. The pearls range in size from 4-7 mm in diameter.
