The History

This ring comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.

During the Art Deco Era jewelers would often make these beautiful rings to order, which would take weeks to craft by hand!

Rubies are considered one of the four precious gemstones in the world along with Diamonds, Emeralds, & Sapphires. Rubies have adorned Royal jewelry for years and has been highly prized for their rarity and gorgeous red hues.

Filigree metal working has been around for thousands of years, however was perfected by the Phoenicians and Etruscan civilizations. It involves stamping out a design in your metal and hand bending and twirling until your design in formed, it is considered one of the most difficult metal working processes.

The Ruby is corundum, meaning it is man made. However, it is expertly made with an incredible color and clarity.

The ring includes Assay marks that let us know it was made in Vienna, Austria, somewhere between 1922 & 1943!

The Piece

The ring includes a Corundum Ruby centerpiece! The Corundum Ruby is Emerald cut with facets that reflect light off of their surface. The Ruby includes a reddish pink hue with a high grade clarity. The Ruby weighs in at a generous 21.60 Cts.

The design of this ring includes classic Art Deco Era craftsmanship! The design showcases a thick prong setting that holds the Ruby in place perfectly and a filigree under gallery made out of thick of yellow gold.

The ring measures 1\" long by 0.75\" wide.
