Antique Vintage Black Americana Boy Fishing For Alligator Ashtray Japan 1940's
A wonderful piece of Black Americana. This hand-painted chalkware ashtray comes from Japan and was produced in the late 1940’s. It features a black boy with fishing pole sitting on the belly of a swamp alligator. He appears to be fishing for the alligator. This ashtray measures approximately 5” L x 4.5” H. The boy used to hold a bamboo fishing pole with small hook, but it has been misplaced. It should be pretty easy to make a new one oif so desired.
