The History

This beautiful piece was made during the Victorian Period! The Victorian Period is famous for its very rare & elegant hard to find designs! Queen Victoria was the ruling monarch for this time period (1837-1901) hence the name (Victorian).

Precious coral isharvested almost exclusively in the Mediterranean off the coasts of Italy,France, Spain, Algeria, and Tunisia. Salmon Coral has widely been valued as therarest and most beautiful of all Coral types. During the Victorian Period onlythe richest of the rich could afford to have this form of coral harvested andimported into Europe and North America.

The Piece

This beautiful necklace includes gorgeous natural untreated Mediterranean Ox blood Red Coral. The Coral is in Branch form and is graduatedin size until you get to the bottom of the necklace. This coral has a beautiful deep red hue that is very very hard to find.

The necklace features classic handmade Victorian craftsmanship throughout as well. It is strung on silk string with a solid period brass clasp as well.

The necklace has a wearable length of 18.5\". The coral is graduate din size with the largest measuring 1 and 1/4\" in length. The necklace also includes a secure spring clasp as well.
