Antique Vintage Violin Nicolaus Amatus Fecit In Cremonia 165?:
This is an antique/vintage violin with the markings on the inside label as Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremonia 1651 or 4 or 7 or 9. I cannot make out the final number on the date. The last two numbers are hand written and I can make out the 5 but the last number is a straight line with a swirl line on the top of the number. I am selling this as is with the case and bow. I do not know anything about instruments. I will describe it as best as I can. There are some minor dings or dent like scratches but this appears to be cosmetic and caused from normal wear and usage throughout the years. I see no cracks From end to end it is approximately 23" long and at it widest it is about 8". The body of the violin is about 14". I do not know if it is missing parts. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. I will do my best to answer them. The black case to hold it is hard thin wood (?) material and the black paint is scrapped off all over it. Inside is some kind of purple soft material. The case clasp has M&W.Co. It appears that the leather handle is missing, but the brass ends are still on the case. I see no markings on the bow. It seems to be in good shape, just needs new hair? There were a few items which I assume go with the violin as they were in the case. I will insure this item. I only accept Pay Pal payments. Sorry will not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. I will ship the most economically way that I can. Thanks for stopping by, come back soon as I will have other items for sale soon.
