Antique WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT TEAPOT Embossed Jasperware 1850 - 1900
DescriptionANTIQUE WEDGWOOD BASALT BLACK TEAPOT Finely Embossed Jasperware 1850 - 1900Superb quality fine applied decoration all round on a squat shape antique basalt teapot. The handle has a large applied leaf decoration by the lid and small wreath of leaves and berries where it joins the main body top and bottom. The spout is similarly decorated where it meets the pot. The lid is also beautifully decorated all round the edge in an intricate fine scroll leaf design.The outside is matt but inside is a beautiful waterproof black shiney gloss.This teapot measures 8¼" across from the handle to the spout and is 4" high. It is fully marked to the base with the impressed WEDGWOOD mark and no England dating it to pre 1891.This teapot is in excellent condition despite its age. There is just one tiny nick to the rim edge on the body of the teapot - please see photo. Please see photos which enlarge when you click on them.Any questions or for more photos please ask. Within the UK I usually offer both 1st and 2nd Class post so you can choose to save a little but please be aware that 2nd class takes longer to arrive!
I get Proof of Posting for items under £10.00 but will only post items of a value of over £10 with Recorded Delivery / Internationally Signed For. Please wait for an invoice before paying. This is charged at cost ie:- 95p UK and £5.15 worldwide.
I try and judge Royal Mail charges as accurately as I can though the items are weighed unpackaged so it is not always easy! Please be aware that the Postage and Packing price quoted covers both Royal Mail charges and the cost of packaging material and time.
