Fantastic World War 2 folk art lamp made from navy gun shells. The main shell is a 40mm anti aircraft high explosive shell \"the green/red tip indicates the type of shell it was, other colors represented inciderary ect,ect\" ,, the brass base is a 5 inch naval cannon shell base. There are 3 light arms each with a pull chain, and a main switch on the base. The light sockets appear to be newer and are in perfect working condition. The base is fantastic,, made of different colored wood blocks glued together into a checkered pattern then turned on a lathe and laquered. The base has some separation in a glue seam due to age \"pictured\" . The main switch and plug are in good original condition and work great. The pull chains are nice to select the amount of light wanted or needed when on. There are 25 watt adapters screwed into the sockets to allow for the smaller bulbs, but simply unscrew them out and you could use regular 40-75 watt standard size bulbs as well. The adapters will be included with the lamp. There are photos of the bottom of the shell casings to date and identify this was a piece of navy folk art built approximately in 1942 during the war. Amazing Piece of WW2 war time folk art. This light was handmade on a battleship, it has imperfections, but blows away anything you will ever see that\'s mass produced and sold in a store.
