Antique Waterbury 8 Day Eastlake Parlor Clock *Time, Strike & Alarm*
Here is a nice 8 Day Time, Strike and Alarm Eastlake Parlor Clock that was made by the Waterbury Clock Co. at Waterbury, Conn., USA in the early 1900's.
This is another clock like what you might see up on the fireplace mantle at Cracker Barrel and wish you could bring home. Actually it's better than those, because this clock in good running order, keeping time and gonging properly. It is the antique wire gong style that has a really nice distinctive sound. The alarm mechanism is also operational.
The pictures show how beautiful and well designed the clock really is. The case is made of solid oak case that has been refinished at one time. There are some minor nicks here and there but overall it's in pretty nice condition. *The case measurements at the longest points are 22" high x 15" wide x 4 ½" deep.
The original paper dial is aged and worn but still very readable and matches the age of the clock nicely.
This clock also comes with the original pendulum and a key that fits.
*Because it is a larger clock we have a set shipping cost, which is good only for the lower 48 United States. These larger boxes are hard to estimate and there is a box size limit to many countries. If you live anywhere else, check with us to see if we are able to ship to you and how much it will cost.*
If your payment needs to be delayed, that will be fine as long as you stay in close contact with us, and send it when you say you're going to. We accept Paypal, plus others. Any payment that requires time to process (clear) will delay shipping. Email with questions concerning other forms of payment.
Most clocks will be shipped within 5 business days of received payment. We like to give each clock sold a final test run and observation before packing. This helps insure that the new owner will have a satifying experience. All items are carefully packaged with around 1 1/2" of packing material between your purchase and the box. All items are shipped insured. We never anticipate damage but in the event that an incident occurs, we will help with insurance claims as much as possible. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. Normally, all shipping costs are based on actual price for estimated weight plus a minimal fee for packaging material and insurance. In rare instances there may be a flat rate shipping price quoted. Smaller items can be combined to save shipping costs. Because clocks require large boxes, priority mail is expensive. We quote USPS Parcel Post and UPS Ground in most cases. ***For any shipments other than the lower 48 United States contact us first for a shipping quote. Do not go by the shipping calculator.
All sales are final, (with the exception noted below). We try to keep an excellent response rating by being fair and honest. We try to describe all items accurately so that you pretty much know exactly what to expect when your purchase arrives. It should be understood before offerding that all antique clocks, unless otherwise noted, have knicks, scratches, tarnished brass, stains and dents which are normally aquired from long term honest use. It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is sold as "in running condition", it means that we have test ran it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you. If a clock is running properly when it arrives,... thats about the best we can do. We cannot guarantee that a clock will not break down, but will not sell anything that we expect to break down without noting that it is being sold as parts or for restoration. In the event that you are not happy, please first go back and read the description to make sure that the item was not misrepresented, and then email us. If we missed seeing some hidden damage, we will refund your money, both purchase price and shipping both ways. ***This does NOT include items sold as parts or not working***(Who knows what might be wrong with things like that)...if it says "as is" it's probably gonna need work.
We are collector/restorers. I have been a member of the NAWCC since 1978. My daughter and I spend quite a bit of time traveling around the northeast buying clocks and clock parts. Many times we are able to buy large quantities from clock makers or clock dealers who are downsizing, or closing out altogether. During the winter months we homeschool, and work together in our family business known as Winding Springs Antique Clock Farm.
You may notice that since joining in 2000 our response has been positive. We only receive response about a third of the time which means we have actually had several thousand positive transactions over the past 10 years that are not recorded in the response system. We would prefer not to deal with anyone who might consider leaving us a negative response. We try to describe everything exactly as it is and if we do something wrong, we will make it right. That being said, rather than give us a bad response, first give us a chance to return your money. If you email us on Saturday it may not be until Monday before you hear back from us. We do not use our computers on Sunday, the Lord's day, but will answer any emails Monday through Saturday and do whatever we can to resolve any problems. Please do not wait until late in an sale to ask questions. (We may not be here)****Also, please do not ask us to falsify shipping records for international shipping. Honesty is always the best policy.
