18th century blown
presentation wine glass.
An almost identical
piece, circa 1741, is shown in Shumann's Book.
Engraved with a
Dutch Windmill Scene.
One of a matching
set, the other is listed separately & the engravings are
different.
The 8-sided stem
is sharply cut. Diamond cut knop with interior bubbles.
Beautiful air twist
core.
LARGE - Measures
12" tall - the bowl is approx 4-1/4" diameter.
Mint Pristine Condition
No chips or cracks
- no nibbles - no scratches - no use wear.
1 minor maker's
flaw - a tiny, light-refracting line trapped inside the glass
at the rim - it is NOT a crack from grinding (I've checked
it through a
jeweler's loupe), and it cannot be felt by touch - closeup photo
below.
A few trapped bubbles
in the foot, this is normal.
