Antique C.1760 Rare German Porcelain Figural Pipe Bowl Turkish Woman Silver Lid For Sale
Rare German porcelain pipe bowl, dating from circa 1760. Beautifully modelled and painted as the head of a Turkish woman with turban and necklace. Mounted hinged and pierced silver lid, made as a scary devils face. On the inside of the bowl there is a blue mark of three wavy lines, which I have been unable to identify. Old, stable restoration running from the forehead to the back of the head. Chip on the chin. The lid mount seems to have been reapplied with red sealing wax. Hinge with loose replaced brass nail. This intriguing piece was in a small lot of old dirty pipes, probably from a collectors estate, purchased in Sweden. It has been carefully cleaned but the silver has been left unpolished. Length: 6 cm (2.4") Height: 7 cm (2.8") Weight: 78 grams Shipping by recorded and insured delivery. Payment by PayPal only, please. Happy to answer any question!
