Antique Candel Train Lamps, Vintage Motorcycle Bicycle Petroleum Oil Hublamp... :
You are offerding on old bicycle and train lamps that are in rough shape and can be used for parts or will need a complete restoration. All 3 of the lamps have missing pieces, are badly rusted, have missing or cracked glass, or have broken hinges etc. They all need work so please do not offer if you are expecting these to be fuctional and ready to use.Hublamp: The front name plate is badly worn and cannot be read. Our "lamp guy" tells us this is opened and can be fit between the spokes of a old high wheel bike, where it clamps over the hub inside the wheel. He indicated that it has been repaired many times in its life, but that thetin body is sound but requires a good paint, and restoration to bring to a nice "ready to use" condition. The front and side glass pieces are intact but may have small chips or scratches, etc. The rear red glass looks to be cracked in half through the middle, but is solid in the lamp. The front lens is obviously broken, as can be seen in the pictures. I ordered a new one, but it is not yet done, and needs to be hand made (75 bucks). The winning buyer can choose to buy it after sale, when it is ready. We had the missing "pick-wick" burner unit made new and had it nickle plated to prevent future corrosion issues which rendered the first one useless. I am also having a tank cap made, but is also not ready. Some of the upper brass componenets are broken or missing. The top barrel has leather ring halves which ride on the bike hub, they are quite hard and brittle.Total hieght ~9 inches, total thickness closed ~4", open around 2.5" in order to get it between the spokes, and width is around 4 inches.
Candle (train?) lamp set:The lamps seem to be from the same manufacturer, but niether have name plates. These lamps, have similar front door opening clasp assemblies, and have plate glass on the sides. The rear round glass is missing in both. I assume they are candle lamps, as there is nothing inside the lamp to hold a tank. They are both strong with sound metal. H=~6", W ~6", thickness ~6".
Email with any questions.(No returns/refunds, so only offer if you are sure you want these old rusty lamps)Happy offerding.
