Offered today are a beautiful pair of antique sewing scissors & sterling sheath. The scissors have very ornate handles decorated with daisies, and scrolls. both sides of the handles have the same elaborate design. The silver is fully hallmarked, dating them to Birmingham 1899 along with the makers initials L&S for Levi & Salamon. The scissors arein excellent condition and cut right up to the tips. They measure 89mm (3.5\") long by 42mm (1.75\") across at the handles. The sterling sheath is a very fancy Victorian design decorated with scrolls and flowers, and is marked \"sterling\" on the side -American made, last quarter of the 19th century . It is approximately 2.25 inches long, not including the chain, with chain total of 4.75 inches. . One cartouche has some initials. The sheath has a couple little dings on the cartouches, but is otherwise in perfect condition. Chain is original. There is still some very old fabric remaining in the sheath, that holds the scissors in place very securely. Sewing tools were used on a daily basis in the 19th century, so it is hard to find one of these that has not been used. These are scarce to find. Both pieces are in beautiful condition, and would make a wonderful addition to a chatelaine, or silver sewing collection. Shipping to Canada, and the USA $15
