I don't know
much about the 3 tin decoys listed this week, but there is a patent date that
looks like Oct. 1874 on the inside of this one. The paint is really old and has
a couple of areas where its flaked and it looks original to me but you be the
judge. The stick looks like it’s from the late 1800s and the right age to be
original and has a copper or brass end that the decoy pushes down into, but I'm
sure it was longer years ago. The top has rings that hold the two halves
together, I'm guessing this is so they could open them up and nest them for
storage or to save space. Pretty nice shape for paint on tin that's this old.
