A beautiful matching pair of antique, circa. 1900, solid silver embossed salt cellar with bristol blue glass liners. I think they may have originated in India but cannot be 100% sure as there are no hallmarks but they have been acid tested and test as a high grade of silver. Both have beautiful ornate embossed images around the sides consisting of an elephant, a lion, a hut or some kind of building and a tree and they each stand on 3 ornate feet. The blue glass liners lift out easily and look like they may be original but difficult to say but they do fit well. All in lovely condition with no splits or holes in the silver and no chips to the glass liners either. Quite stunning and the silver weight, without the liners, is approx. 54 grams. Each one stands approx. 3cm high x 4.5cm diameter.
