Antique Paper Ephemera 1860s Civil War Era Suffrage Soldiers Alabama Ship Poems:
This interesting paper lot of poetry comes from an estate sale box lot containing documents from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Here are four pages (or leaflets, not really sure) which appear to be circa 1860's. Their condition is quite worn--lots of discoloration, spotting and small tears/areas of wear here and there. That said, though, they may have some historic value. There is a tri-fold old paper document entitled, "Suffrage Pledge--Rhode Island Algerines Appeal to John Davis." Another aged page is titled, "The Colored Soldier" by "L.B.S." There are also two lithograph-illustrated poems, one is "The Sinking of the Pirate Alabama," and the other is, "The Dying Soldier to his Mother" (this one is "lithographed and printed by Charles Magnus. . . New York Branch Office . . ." All four pieces are included in this sale. Shipping: $3.00
