This stein is out of my dads extensive stein collection he had accumulated over the years of living in Germany and Europe while in the Military.Us kids know very little about them except that he guarded them like they were gold!After downsizing to a condo he let a lot of them go and kept his very favorites....... this was one of them that made the cut and was in his condo.
Nice early 1900\'s beehive shaped stein in a brown mottled glaze similar to spongeware.Upon doing research of the mark, I discovered it is a \"stylized butterfly\" and was made by Wim Muhlendyck. I found out quite a bit and have taken a picture of the page with the info....... check the last picture on the listing.Marked on the bottom:414Aand the stylized butterfly mark..Stein weighs1 lbs.7 oz. BEFORE packaging materials and shipping box.
Measures6.5 inches tall to the top of thethumb lifton the lid, andjust over 12 inches around.
